Coney Island winter set 

When I was a kid, my father would sometimes take me to Coney Island after a night out in Bay Ridge. The hazy lights would illuminate the sand and jetties beyond the boardwalk. Those moments stuck out in my mind the morning I took this set. Some places stick with you long after you leave them, their ghosts inhabit the deepest recesses of your mind. It’s not until you return that you realize what a strong presence those places truly have. This little strip of beach in south Brooklyn is one of those places…

Señora Tortilla 

This woman was carrying hot tortillas in her kart. She must have made them that morning. The next day, I saw her unloading another fresh batch at one of my favorite restaurants – An Oaxacan joint called Chiles and Chocolate on 7th Ave. Doesn’t get more authentic than that, folks!
